Enetron Park has long been developing Uusnivala BESS project and on its initial steps 2024 it was the largest BESS power plant in the Nordics. Fast forward to 2026: the Uusnivala substation region is the single largest hotspot for BESS park projects in Finland - many of which already operational and mathing that size which was the largest in 2024.
Reassessing
Due to large congestion of 110 kV BESS power plants in the area – and the long-term connectivity limitations they bring – Enetron Park is reassessing the future of the project. Uusnivala BESS has a legally enforceable building permit, which opens opportunities e.g. convert the station to 400 kV plant or smaller sodium-ion station.
At its current state Uusnivala BESS is not commercially available.
