Enetron park obtained necessary construction permits for Uusnivala BESS power plant January 2025. The project was the third consecutive project in the area of the Uusnivala substation.

The project has drawn significant interest since its first steps. During 2024 – 2025 Enetron Park even organised an in-house call for funds to construct the project.

Now, Autumn 2026 the area of Uusnivala Substation is home to five or six different BESS plants, either completed or in construction. All of the plants utilise 110 kV connection line, which has set a connection limitation for new projects. Further, there are also data center projects being planned in the area.

Enetron Park has concluded to return Uusnivala project back to drawing board and the project is not currently available for divesting. New plans include either 400 kV plant or smaller sodium-ion plant following the template of Isoniemi BESS.
