Building Permit Granted for Battery Power Plant Project in Uusnivala
Published:
Enetron Park’s Uusnivala battery storage project has reached a major milestone, as the project has been granted a building permit. Once completed, the Uusnivala battery storage facility will be the largest single battery storage system in the Nordic countries.
The Uusnivala battery storage facility will be connected to the Fingrid substation, and a new Takaneva substation will also be built on the site.
Enetron Park will now enter into connection negotiations with Fingrid. The project is planned in two phases: the first phase will feature a 65 MW battery storage facility with a storage capacity of 130 MWh. The capacity for the second phase will be confirmed later, with a connection capacity of 60 MW. The two-phase development approach allows for the utilization of the rapid advancements in battery technology, as both parts of the facility can be built using different generations of technology.
